Srikakulam Urban Development Authority chairman and Jana Sena Party’s (JSP) coordinator for the local body elections in the Araku Parliament segment Korikana Ravikumar on Sunday said that the JSP would register spectacular results in ensuing local body elections.

Speaking to media, he said that the first round of talks with alliance partners TDP and BJP had been completed successfully. He said:”The NDA parties are likely to have an upper hand in Araku, Saluru, Parvatipuram, Palakonda and other places of the Parliamentary constituency as people were fed up with YSR Congress Party.”

Mr. Ravikumar claimed that a section of YSRCP’s traditional vote bank had shifted to the NDA, particularly to JSP, because of the clean administration provided by the government. He said: “Deputy Chief Minister and JSP president Pawan Kalyan had ensured the construction of roads covering 1,065 km in tribal areas over the last two years. This had made tribal communities to look up to the JSP. They will vote for JSP as well as NDA parties in ensuing elections.”

Mr. Ravikumar said that the party was keen to encourage new leadership at the grassroot level after checking the backgrounds of applicants seeking party tickets. He said that candidates must adhere to the guidelines of the party high command as seats would be shared among the three alliance parties based on their local strength, community and political equations.
