The Kakinada city police on Tuesday registered cases against Shyam Institute Director G. Shyam and 20 students of the institute on the charges of staging a protest in Kakinada city on September 7, 2026 without obtaining permission from the police. The 20 students of the institute from various parts of the State are aspirants of the constable and Sub-Inspector posts.
On September 7, scores of students staged a protest demanding the notification for the mega recruitment of Constable and Sub-Inspector posts.
According to the office of the Kakinada Superintendent of Police, a case has been registered against Mr. Shyam and 20 students of the Shyam Institute.
In a press conference, Mr. Shyam announced; “On Tuesday morning, the police entered our institute without any prior communication. The police have alleged that I have instigated the students to stage the protest on September 7. These allegations by the police are baseless.”
Tension prevailed on the campus of the Shyam Institute on Tuesday morning when the police rushed there without any communication to the management of the institute.
“I am prepared to provide whatever information is sought by the police. The police should establish my role in the students’ protest before raiding the institute”, stated Mr. Shyam.
