Minister for General Education N. Samsudheen has said that an order will be issued soon to address the concerns of around 1,600 teachers whose appointment approval has been put on hold for the past few years in the wake of a dispute related to the reservation for the differently-abled people.

He was delivering a speech after opening the State-level Teachers’ Day celebration here on Saturday (September 5). Mr. Samsudheen said that 4% of posts would be clearly set apart for the differently-abled people to ensure the completion of the appointment process in a transparent manner. A special roster will be prepared to include all the appointments in schools. A curative plea had been filed in the Supreme Court to clear the hurdles related to the K-TET.

Mr. Samsudheen also said that the criteria for the creation of posts of physical education teachers would be relaxed.
