I grew up on Harrington Road. Growing up, it was such a quiet road, and we used to play cricket where the railway tracks were. And to see the road now, it’s completely commercialised with so many restaurants, shops, and it shows how Chennai as a city has evolved.

For me, Chennai is a lot about sport. It used to be cricket at school, cricket at home with my friends, and watching cricket. And also watching motorsports…the race at Sholavaram is something we look forward to. Also, playing sports at the club was very important for me. I used to play sports at the MCC Club and the Madras Club.

The golf course is an important part of the city. I enjoyed playing golf growing up. When I used to play golf, there were just a few of us, but now I see so many young children playing golf.

The entire CSK (Chennai Super Kings) phenomenon has made cricket special for the people of Chennai.

Now, you see a lot of new sports such as pickleball and padel. My kids play padel and pickleball a lot. The sports culture in Chennai is still going strong.

In Chennai, people we meet have similar values. We don’t search for publicity; we believe in doing our work and doing it well. This is something unique about the city. And businesses here are long-term.
