The Commissioner’s Task Force, Golconda team, along with the SR Nagar Police, arrested a 28-year-old pharmacy worker and a 19-year-old man for allegedly illegally supplying and purchasing prescription drugs and cough syrups in Hyderabad.

The police seized 12 Termin injections, 10,000 Tapentadol (Tapazole) 100 mg tablets, 450 bottles of Senkof cough syrup and six bottles of Alkof DX cough syrup. A OnePlus Nord 5 mobile phone was also seized. The total value of the seized property was estimated at ₹4.80 lakh.

The arrested individuals were identified as Pathan Saleem, 28, a pharmacy worker and resident of Yousufguda, and Prashanth Reddy, 19, an unemployed resident of Sanath Nagar.

According to the police, Saleem worked as an assistant to his elder brother at Smart Choice Health Pharmacy in Sanathnagar. In his brother’s absence, he allegedly sold Termin injections, Tapentadol tablets and cough syrups without valid prescriptions and at higher prices to make illegal profits.

Police said Saleem allegedly used his brother’s pharmacy’s rubber stamps and rented a separate storage space in the same building to stock and sell the medicines. Reddy allegedly purchased Senkof, Alkof DX and Tapentadol from Saleem for personal consumption.

The accused and the seized material were handed over to the Drug Inspector, Khairtabad Zone, for further action.
