Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA C. Adinarayana Reddy on Tuesday expressed confidence that the TDP-BJP-Jana Sena alliance would secure a decisive victory in the forthcoming local body elections, saying the coalition partners would contest in coordination based on their strength at the grassroots level.

Addressing the media here, Mr Adinarayana Reddy said seat-sharing would be decided through discussions, with candidates selected based on local conditions rather than the number of seats each party claims. “The coalition will work unitedly and defeat the YSRCP,” he said.

Responding to YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s call to his party workers to prepare for the elections, he said the former Chief Minister should be ready to face the democratic verdict.

Alleging that democratic processes had been undermined during the previous YSRCP’s tenure, he said the coalition government was committed to conducting the elections democratically.

Mr. Adinarayana Reddy said the alliance was confident of demonstrating its strength even in Pulivendula, the stronghold of the YSRCP leadership.

He questioned Mr. Jagan’s demand for a CBI inquiry into alleged irregularities in the DSC and APPSC examinations, saying the YSRCP president should answer questions relating to cases being investigated by the CBI and Enforcement Directorate.

Reiterating that there was no dispute among the three alliance partners, he said the TDP, BJP and Jana Sena Party would take decisions amicably under the guidance of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and the coalition leadership.

BJP spokesperson Shaik Baji and party leader Dr. Rajesh Reddy were among those present.
