A tourism-linked agricultural market centre will be established in Nilambur, Aryadan Shoukath, MLA, has said.

Inaugurating the district-level Onam market organised by the Agriculture department at Nilambur on Saturday (August 22), Mr. Shoukath said the department would promote farming methods using new technologies.

Nilambur municipal chairperson Padmini Gopinath presided over the function. Vice-chairperson Koomanchery Shoukathali received the first sale.

Agriculture deputy director K.P. Suresh delivered the keynote address.

Nilambur agriculture assistant director Bijula Balan, standing committee chairperson Mumtaz Babu, councillors E.S. Mujeeb, Rajeena Noushad Ali, P.T. Kunhimohammed, and Adukkath Isahaq, CDS chairperson Sally Biju, assistant agriculture officer Shabeerali Mukkatta, and agriculture assistants C.C. Sunil and T.V. Meena spoke.
