TNSTC conductor suspended in Tirupattur for smoking inside bus

A bus conductor of Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) was suspended in Tirupattur on Thursday for smoking while on duty.

TNSTC officials said the bus conductor, S. Jaya Prakash, 51, is a native of Tirupattur. Transport officials said that a commuter recorded a video of Jaya Prakash smoking in a bus on the way to Krishnagiri. The video of the incident, which happened a few days ago, went viral on social media platforms and triggered public outcry. The conductor was suspended after an enquiry, and further probe is under way.
