Five people were booked after a dispute over the price of fried fish at a restaurant at Kuttippuram turned into a brawl on Tuesday (August 11, 2026) afternoon.
The incident took place around 2.30 p.m. According to the police complaint, an argument broke out between the five customers and hotel staff over the bill. The customers allegedly assaulted employees who tried to intervene.
The employees sustained injuries to their lips, jaw and eyes, according to the complaint. Footage of the fight has been widely circulated on social media, sparking comments about the incident.
The police registered a case against the five, who are from Vairamkode near Tirunavaya. The restuarant owner alleged that the group had earlier visited the restuarant and caused trouble.
