Three militants belonging to different proscribed groups were arrested in Manipur, police said on Tuesday (September 30, 2025).

An active member of the proscribed Peoples’ Liberation Army (PLA) was arrested near his house in Kadangband in Imphal West district on Monday (September 29, 2025), they said.

He was identified as Sanasam Sanatomba Singh (54). Two INSAS light machine gun magazines, two camouflage helmets, five bulletproof plates and four bulletproof vests were recovered from him, they said.

PLA operates mainly from its camps in neighbouring Myanmar, and has been held responsible for many attacks on security forces.

An active cadre of the banned NRFM was arrested from Khoijuman in Bishnupur district, police said.

A member of the banned Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup was arrested from Paona Bazaar in Imphal West district. He was identified as Urikhinbam Premjit Singh (41) and was allegedly involved in extorting local businesses in the Valley.

Meanwhile, two passengers were arrested with ganja weighing 21.42 kg at the Imphal airport, police said. The drugs were found in the luggage, they said.

The accused were identified as Laishram Vikash Singh (20) and Ngangbam Nelson Meitei (19), police said.
