The Kerala government has granted administrative sanction for ₹14.40 crore for continuing the comprehensive rehabilitation and welfare package ‘Sneha Sandhwanam’ for endosulfan-affected people in Kasaragod district.
The amount has been allocated through the Social Justice Department, incorporated into the demand for grants in the State budget for financial year 2026–2027.
The UDF government has kept its promise to endosulfan-affected persons, a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s office said.

A chunk of the sanctioned amount has been earmarked for providing direct financial relief to victims. Of this, ₹9,84,31,200 has been set aside for monthly relief assistance from April 2026 to March 2027, for those 5,208 endosulfan relief beneficiaries who are currently receiving support.
An amount of ₹2.64 crore has been earmarked for the 1,000 beneficiaries who are expected to be newly added to the list.
In addition, the government has set aside ₹64,76,400 for the ‘Ashwasakiranam’ scheme, which provides monthly financial assistance to the 771 caregivers looking after the endosulfan-affected persons.
As part of ensuring social and educational support for the affected families, the government has also allocated ₹10,05,000 for educational benefits for 400 children for the 2026–27 academic year.
An allocation of ₹1,16,87,400 has also been made for upgrading and improving the physical facilities and services at the 10 model child rehabilitation centres in the region.
