The Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) Force of Telangana has busted an inter-state ganja trafficking network operating between Odisha and Karnataka and apprehended three persons in Khammam district. Police seized 400 kgs of dry ganja, estimated to be worth ₹2 crore, along with three vehicles, two mobile phones and ₹10,110 in cash.
The Regional Narcotics Control Centre (RNCC), Khammam, intercepted the network and apprehended Vanthala Gopi Nadh (27) a Bolero driver from Maredumilli in Andhra Pradesh, Khilo Laxman (25), who allegedly acted as a motorcycle pilot and escort, and M. Nagaraju (32), a transporter and peddler from Karnataka. Several others allegedly associated with the network are absconding.
The apprehended persons, seized vehicles and other material were handed over to the Kusumanchi police for further legal action. The investigation is continuing to trace the complete supply chain, apprehend the remaining accused and ascertain whether the network was involved in other inter-state narcotics trafficking operations, the police said.
