Leaders of Lok Satta and representatives of several organisations on Monday opposed the reported proposal to establish the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) in Amaravati.

Speaking at a round-table meeting in Visakhapatnam, A.P. Lok Satta president Bhishetti Babji alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s reported letter to the Centre would disadvantage unemployed youth from North Andhra. He argued that the RRB should function from Visakhapatnam, where the South Coast Railway Zone is headquartered.

CPI leader J.V. Satyanarayana Murthy and others expressed support for the demand and urged the State government to reconsider its stand.
