Although the intensity of the rain has subsided considerably, moderate heavy rain continues to affect the State, disrupting normal pace of life in areas that witnessed torrential downpours over the past two days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for the entire State on Monday (August 3, 2026), warning of isolated heavy rainfall.

A flash flood warning has been issued for Pathanamthitta, where intense rainfall was recorded over the past couple of days. A holiday has been declared for educational institutions in 12 districts on Monday — Kasaragod, Kannur, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Palakkad, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kottayam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha.
