The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested a Bangladeshi national, identified as Muhammad Hassan, from Mavoor here on Wednesday.

Police sources said Hassan was apprehended during an inspection at a rented house following a tip-off.

During the search, the ATS team recovered his Bangladeshi identity documents and currency. Hassan and his friend had moved into the house just a day earlier. On seeing the ATS team, the person accompanying him reportedly fled the scene. The police have intensified search for him.

The ATS also received information that another friend of Hassan was staying in the same house, and efforts are on to trace him as well.

Meanwhile, Hassan was shifted to the Mavoor police station, and a case will be registered against him under the Immigration and Foreigners Act.
