The Regional Institute of English, South India (RIESI), Bengaluru, in collaboration with the Directorate of State Educational Research and Training, conducted a four-day State-level workshop on bilingual teacher capacity building for 309 District Resource Team members across the Kalaburagi, Belagavi, Mysuru, and Bengaluru divisions who will serve as State Resource Persons.

The workshop forms the first phase of the Department of School Education and Literacy’s year-long academic handholding programme aimed at strengthening bilingual teaching and learning practices in government schools, said a release from RIESI.

The participants were taught techniques of teaching English, Environmental Studies, Mathematics, and Kannada through bilingual strategies.

Rashmi V. Mahesh, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy, visited the workshop.
