Members of the Naujawan Bharat Sabha (NBS) and Disha Students’ Organisation staged a protest near the Gandhi statue, close to the GVMC office, on Thursday against alleged paper leaks, examination scams and the police action on students protesting at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

The protesters expressed solidarity with the students’ agitation in the national capital and condemned what they described as the Delhi Police’s assault on demonstrators.

Speaking on the occasion, Disha Students’ Organisation member Avinash said the protests should continue until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned. Naujawan Bharat Sabha member Sujan demanded the abolition of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and said the movement would continue until accountability was fixed. He also alleged that growing inequality lay at the root of paper leaks and the lack of educational and employment opportunities. The protest concluded with participants raising slogans and singing protest songs.
