Hyderabad

Students of the Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), on Thursday, condemned the reported use of force by police and security agencies against students protesting in Delhi.

The students, who held a demonstration at the varsity, also denounced the Uttar Pradesh government’s demolition notice issued to Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar University, describing it as an attack on education and minority institutions.

Speaking at the protest, MANUU SU president Mateen Ashraf said that the government had failed to protect students’ rights and said the demolition notice amounted to an assault on democratic values.

SIO National Campus Secretary Talha Mannan said students would continue their struggle to defend democratic rights and would not succumb to intimidation. MANUU Student Collective member Swaleh Ansari alleged that the demolition notice reflected an anti-minority mindset, while Education student Fatima demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
