Delhi Police on Thursday (July 23, 2026) stopped students in autorickshaws near Nizamuddin in Delhi and got them out of those vehicles to stop them from reaching the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) protest site in Jantar Mantar, Delhi.

Students in central Delhi also said that they were stopped at about 5 km from the protest site and were not allowed to go.

“We are only stopping students who are going for the protest as Section 144 (Section 163 of BNSS) is in place. We are making them understand that they could get injured over there,” a police officer at the site said, adding that they were not stopping other vehicles or people in autorickshaws going for other work.
