Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) has declared an annual profit of ₹489.84 crore for the 2024–25 financial year.

The total revenue of the airport company has touched ₹1,142 crore. The annual general meeting of CIAL, held here on Saturday (September 27, 2025), approved the board of directors’ recommendation to distribute 50% of the profit as dividends to shareholders.

Addressing the annual general meeting held online, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who is also the Chairman of CIAL, stated that the airport company is implementing development projects worth ₹1,400 crores. The 2024–25 fiscal year has recorded the highest-ever profit in the history of CIAL.

“The year gone by has witnessed CIAL not only recording impressive financial growth but also making commendable gains in surveys on operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. For the third consecutive year, more than one crore passengers passed through the Kochi Airport. The airport operated 76,068 services during the period,” said Mr. Vijayan.

CIAL is implementing big-ticket projects to capitalise on the significant changes in the Indian aviation industry. The expansion of the international terminal is progressing rapidly. The construction of the apron, as part of this, is 50% complete. The import cargo terminal, animal quarantine system, 0484 Aero Lounge, and Kochi Airport Taj Hotel could also be operationalised during the period. The comprehensive project to fully digitise the airport’s operations is also under way, Mr. Vijayan said.

The construction of the commercial zone and the golf tourism project, aimed at enhancing non-aviation revenue, is also making swift progress. Kochi Airport’s achievement in solar energy generation has brought international acclaim. At present, 50 megawatts is the installed capacity of CIAL’s green energy projects. Excess energy produced during the daytime is being transferred to the grid. CIAL is also initiating a project on a trial basis to store solar energy and make it available at night. The project will be commissioned during the ongoing fiscal. The hydrogen generation project, being implemented with the support of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, is also in its final stages.

Industries Minister P. Rajeeve, Chief Secretary A. Jayathilak, other directors, Managing Director S. Suhas, and Company Secretary Saji K. George attended the meeting.
