Members of the Vizag Film Society paid homage to legendary playback singer S. Janaki, who passed away recently at the age of 88, at a condolence meeting held at the Visakhapatnam Public Library on Friday evening. The participants observed a two-minute silence before garlanding her portrait. Speaking on the occasion, society secretary Narava Prakasa Rao said S. Janaki’s contribution to Indian cinema was unparalleled and that her voice would continue to live through her songs. A documentary on her life and cinematic journey was screened.
