Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin on Tuesday (July 14, 2026) urged the people to give their blessings to party candidate Neeraj Kumar Sinha for the upcoming bypoll to the Bankipur Assembly Constituency. Mr. Nabin said this while interacting with the press in Patna soon after inaugurating the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) election office in Kidwaipuri locality.

Mr. Nabin said the people of Bankipur have always blessed him, and now his younger brother will work with that same trust and blessing, further accelerating the journey of development in Bankipur.

He added that it was a matter of great joy that the leadership of the BJP has given an opportunity to a dedicated party worker — a mandal president—to contest the Bankipur bypoll.

“I am confident that building upon the long-standing familiar bond we share with the people of this constituency and the legacy of my late father Navin Kishore Prasad Sinha, who nurtured this area through years of struggle, and with the blessings of my father, the trust of the public, and the support of fellow party workers, this candidate will succeed,” Mr. Nabin said.

The seat fell vacant after Mr. Nabin was elected to the Rajya Sabha. On Friday, the BJP nominated Mr. Sinha as its candidate after Abhishek Kumar alias Bunty withdrew his candidature.

‘Dedicated worker’

“The party has once again given an opportunity to a dedicated worker — someone who hails from the family of a veteran Jana Sangh-era activist. He is a young man whom the locals recognise as a committed worker, someone who always stands by the people and helps to address their problems,” Mr. Nabin said.
