BJP Legislature Party leader A. Maheshwar Reddy has urged Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to accord early approval for the proposed 136.5-km railway line between Patancheru and Adilabad, saying the project would benefit people in Nirmal, Armur and other towns along the route.

In a memorandum submitted to the Railway Minister during his recent visit to Hyderabad, Mr. Reddy stated that the Final Location Survey (FLS) for the project had already been completed and that the South Central Railway (SCR) had submitted a Detailed Project Report (DPR) to the Railway Board in October 2025.

According to a press release, the proposed rail link would significantly improve connectivity in northern Telangana and facilitate the movement of agricultural produce and goods. Farmers and traders would gain easier access to major market yards in Nizamabad and Adilabad, helping reduce transportation costs and improve market access.

Mr. Reddy also said the railway line would benefit students by providing better connectivity to higher educational institutions in Hyderabad, Nanded and Karimnagar. He urged the Railway Ministry to expedite the approval process and take up the project at the earliest in view of its potential economic and social benefits for the region.
