VB-G RAM G will strengthen rural India, benefit workers, say officers

A team of officers from the Union Ministry of Rural Development recently visited some villages in Belagavi district to see the working of Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G).

A team of officers, led by Deputy Director-General, Ministry of Rural Development Altaf Hussain Haji, visited villages in Belagavi and Hukkeri.

They interacted with workers and officers. They also joined Rozgar Day celebrations in Hanchinal village.

The team that included Undersecretary K.C. Anil Kumar and Assistant Director Baldevakumar Verma held a meeting with the district-level officers and staff of the project and collected information about the implementation of the scheme.

The Ministry of Rural Development team also visited the Akka Cafe started under the National Rural Livelihood Mission and the Jal Shakti centre at the Belagavi Zilla Panchayat office.

They held a review of implementation of the rural job scheme and collected feedback about the progress overview of various projects.

They participated in the Rozgar Day program organized by the Zilla Panchayat, the Taluk Panchayat and the Gram Panchayat in collaboration in Hanchinal village.

Mr. Haji said that VB-G RAM G will lead to all-round development of villages along with guarantee of employment to rural labour. He urged all stakeholders to join hands for the success of the project.

Team members released the brochures of the rural job scheme. They also symbolically issued work orders to some labour. They planted saplings and unveiled an information board for the plantation work started under the new scheme.

The team inspected the houses of the beneficiaries of the housing scheme and some roads under the PMGSY scheme.

They visited the Shramjeevi Vanadhana Vikas Kendra run by women members of self-help groups. They appreciated the efforts of women who are making handicrafts.

Zilla Panchayat Project Director Ravindra Bangareppanavar, Executive Officer T.R. Mallad, Assistant Director S.S. Mathad, RFO Hanumant Ingalagi, ADPC Basavaraja N., DIEC Mahantesh Jangati, Technical Coordinator Muragesha Yakkanchi, PDO Shivanand Vasannavar and others were present.
