SSN College of Engineering won the award in the education category at the 24th Madras Management Association (MMA) Awards for Managerial Excellence.
In the services sector, the award was presented to Apollo Hospital, and was received by its Group Chief Financial Officer, Krishnan Akhileswaran.
Awards were also presented in the SME and manufacturing sectors. In the SME sector, the award was conferred on Indus Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd. and was received by its Managing Director, Krishnamurthy Mani. In the manufacturing sector, the award was presented to ELGI Equipments Limited, with its Managing Director, Jairam Varadaraj, accepting the honour.
The organisers said that around 92 nominations were received, and each organisation was evaluated on parameters such as financial performance, revenue growth, profitability, corporate responsibility, and leadership before the winners were selected. Thomas Dose, Managing Director of BMW Group Plant, Chennai, said that the best skill is to make it simple, make it easy and don’t complicate everything. “Don’t look at all these management school… you have everything you need in your heart.”
The event also saw launch of the book ‘Turning points: Management Lessons from Legends’ Volume 3. The MMA Platinum Jubilee logo was also launched. The Hindu Group and The Hindu businessline were the media partners for the MMA Awards for Managerial Excellence.
