Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has condemned the recent assault on three youths in Perumbavoor, accusing them of involvement in drug trafficking. Asserting that vigilante action was unacceptable, the Minister urged the public to refrain from taking the law into their own hands. He said anyone who suspected drug peddling or drug use should immediately alert the police instead of resorting to physical violence. “Physical assaults or public punishment would only weaken Operation Toofan. The police will ensure that all offenders are dealt with strictly under the law,” he told mediapersons here on Friday.
