Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud revealed that the process of appointing District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents across Telangana would be completed by the end of October.

Speaking to the media after meeting AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge in New Delhi, Mr. Goud said he briefed the Congress chief on the welfare schemes being implemented by the State government and the pro-people decisions taken in Telangana.

“The AICC president directed us to ensure effective district-level leadership and appoint only those leaders who can take on the opposition with strength on the ground,” Mr. Goud said. He added that Mr. Kharge stressed the need for organisational restructuring in a systematic manner, without yielding to pressure from any particular group.

As part of this exercise, AICC observers will begin touring all districts in Telangana from October 4. By October 15, the observers will submit a shortlist of six names for each district for the post of DCC president. The final appointments will be completed by the end of October, he said.
