The Telangana Food Safety Department has suspended the food business licences of two dairy units in Sangareddy district and seized 3,800 kg of cream worth approximately ₹9.22 lakh after inspections uncovered multiple food safety and labelling violations.

The inspections were carried out on July 7 and 8 at M/s Saraswathi Dairy Products India Private Limited and Divya Enterprises. According to the department, officials found misbranded dairy products, including Keston Curd and Divya Curds, while Keston Paneer was found to carry misleading claims.

The inspection teams also detected the use of expired laboratory reagents and chemicals for food testing purposes, raising concerns over quality control. Other violations included poor hygiene and sanitation, inadequate record maintenance and traceability, improper storage and food safety practices, pest infestation and structural deficiencies at the facilities.

Samples of milk, curd and paneer were collected from both units and sent for laboratory analysis. Further action will be taken based on the test reports, the department said.
