A 57-year-old rowdy-sheeter was arrested by the Abid Road police for allegedly threatening a businessman and attempting to extort ₹10 lakh from him at his shop in Hyderabad.

The accused was identified as Habeeb Ali Baghdadi alias Bobby, a businessman from King Koti.

According to the police, the case stems from a complaint lodged by businessman Syed Yousuf Shareef, a resident of Malakpet, on December 30, 2025. The complainant said that Bobby entered his shop, Drive Zone, on the night of December 30, recorded videos on his mobile phone, abused and intimidated him, and demanded ₹10 lakh. The complainant further alleged that the accused had threatened and attempted to extort money from him on an earlier occasion as well.

Based on the complaint, police registered a case and launched an investigation, which culminated in the arrest.

Police described Bobby as a listed rowdy-sheeter of the Abid Road police station. He has a long criminal history, with 12 previous cases registered against him at Hussaini Alam, Narayanguda, Dabeerpura and Abid Road police stations, including allegations of extortion, criminal intimidation, assault, trespass and other offences.

Further investigation is underway.
