All India Congress Committee general secretary and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra says Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan is personally monitoring the relief operations.

All India Congress Committee general secretary and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has said that all efforts are under way to rescue those still trapped in the Wayanad “landslip.”

In a post on X, Ms. Vadra said Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan was personally monitoring the relief operations, while the police and the National Disaster Response Force were at the site. She added that State Disaster Response Force teams and civil defence volunteers had also reached the area.

“We are all coordinating with the district administration, Ministers T. Siddique and A.P. Anil Kumar, who are on their way from Thiruvananthapuram, local party functionaries and the agencies concerned,” Ms. Vadra said.

She expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the incident.

The Wayanad MP appealed to United Democratic Front (UDF) workers, functionaries and members of the public to extend all possible support while strictly following the administration’s guidelines. “At a time like this, we need to ensure that relief and rescue efforts are not hampered and we ensure all possible help without causing any distractions.”
