Complaint by actor Ansiba Hassan: Court directs registration of FIR against Lakshmipriya, SI

The Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Thripunithura, has directed the Hill Palace police to register an FIR against actor Lakshmipriya and a woman police sub-inspector (SI) on a complaint by actor Ansiba Hassan.

Ms. Hassan, a former joint secretary of Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), gave her statement before the magistrate on Saturday, after which the court directed the police to register the FIR. She had accused Ms. Lakshmipriya of filing a false complaint against her, and Reshma, the SI of the women’s cell, of subjecting her to harassment and unlawful detention in the name of ‘verifying’ allegations against her.

Ms. Hassan had said that she decided to file the complaint as she felt “insulted” with the act of Ms. Reshma who allegedly allowed Ms. Lakshmipriya and her husband to join her while “interrogating” her in the name of verifying the allegations.
