Minister for Housing and Urban Development B. Rajkumar on Saturday (July 4, 2026) inspected the progress of various development works and water projects that are underway in Cuddalore Corporation.

The Minister accompanied by Cuddalore Member of Parliament M. Vishnu Prasad and Collector Sibi Adhithya Senthil Kumar inspected various works undertaken under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme that included laying of pipelines to provide protected drinking water to households in 18 wards in Manjakuppam and construction of an overhead water storage tank with 12 million litre capacity at Sorakalpattu at an outlay of ₹28.67 crore.

The Minister also inspected the ongoing construction of the Anna Market in Cuddalore. The market is being built at an estimated cost of ₹5.03 crore and will include 120 shops. He also reviewed the construction of a two-storey aquarium with internal temperature control systems.

Mr. Rajkumar also inspected the construction of a sewage treatment plant at Devanampattinam at an estimated cost of ₹43.45 crore and an Animal Birth Control (ABC) centre at Pachaiyankuppam. He directed the officials to expedite the works, ensure quality and complete the works within the stipulated timeframe. Roads damaged due to laying of drinking water pipelines should be restored immediately, he said.
