Priests from various shrines conducted the pujas and the holy water was sprinkled atop the ‘gopurams’ between 5.45 a.m. and 6.30 a.m., the auspicious period.

As a part of the kumbabishekam, the temple, which is considered as one of the important shrines of Lord Murugan (Arupadaiveedu), yagasala pujas were conducted and homams marked the celebrations.

The priests sprinkled the holy water and using drones, the volunteers took the holy water to the masses on the occasion.

Tamil Nadu Energy Minister C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar, MLAs Kallanai and Karuppiah, senior officials from Madurai district and the HR&CE, Police, Fire and Rescue Service and Forest departments and among others participated.
