Deputy Commissioner of Yadgir district Rahul Pandve has directed various government departments to get approval from city and town municipalities concerned before digging roads for any work, including laying pipelines.

He was chairing a coordination meeting in Yadgir on June 29 to review the development work being undertaken by the Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation, Public Works Department, GESCOM, Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Corporation, Nirmiti Kendra, and Kalyan Karnataka Regional Development Board, under TMC and CMC limits.

He said that the agencies should compulsorily get approval from the local bodies for digging roads while implementing any project, and the restoration works must be carried out properly after completion of the proposed work.

The DC directed the TMC, CMC, GESCOM, and forest officers to visit to spots where the drinking water project – AMRUT 2.0 – is going to be implemented by the Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board (KUWS&DB) under the limits of all urban local bodies, and extend necessary cooperation.

As the rainy season has begun, he told officers to prepare a draft expenditure report for drinking water-related work with details of various account 3F (AMRUT-2.0, Nagarothana Phase-04, and SFC drinking water) with complete information about the rivers, wells, canals, overhead tanks, and water supply projects coming under the jurisdiction of the respective urban local bodies and submit it immediately, Mr Pandve said.
