Villupuram Member of Parliament D. Ravikumar reviewed various Central schemes being implemented in the district at the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting held in Villupuram on Saturday.

The meeting reviewed the implementation and operation of various schemes under the departments of rural development and panchayat raj, local administration, Tangedco, departments of agriculture, forests and animal husbandry, among others.

The allocation of funds under each scheme, the ongoing works, and the progress made, besides those that were completed, were reviewed during the meeting, in which Collector Shiek Abdul Rahman participated.

The various line departments implementing the schemes under the Union government were asked to ensure quality infrastructure work, and that the schemes reached the intended beneficiaries.

The committee discussed the status of house allotments under the “Housing for All” scheme and PM Janman scheme, along with the identification of beneficiaries and the completion of construction works.

Officials were instructed to speed up pending works and ensure that development projects are completed within the stipulated time.

Mr. Ravikumar also directed local body chairpersons and panchayat presidents to ensure that basic amenities in their jurisdictions were properly maintained and that public funds allocated for development are used effectively.
