Reliance Industries will donate 25 electric buses worth ₹27.5 crore to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), its executive director Anant Ambani announced on Sunday (June 28, 2026) after offering prayers at the Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swami temple.

He said the company would also bear the salaries and other allowances of the 50 drivers needed to operate the buses, and help the temple body set up electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to run them.

This was his second visit to Tirumala this month. On June 12, he had offered prayers at the hill shrine along with his father and Reliance Industries chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani, and his wife Radhika Merchant. TTD executive officer Muddada Ravichandra had presented Mukesh Ambani with the deity’s laddu and theertha prasadams, and the family later visited the TTD’s goshala before leaving for Mumbai.

The visit came amid a heavy rush of devotees to Tirumala over the weekend. The TTD cancelled the VIP break darshan and the SRIVANI same-day online booking quota for Monday (June 29, 2026), to ensure early darshan for common devotees.

Additional executive officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary said the step was taken after an unusually large turnout on Saturday, and that priority was being given to devotees’ safety and convenience.
