Farmers, experts in aquaculture, and the stakeholders discussed on community action plan (CAP) to cultivate quality shrimp and benefit small and medium aqua farmers in the State.

At a meeting held here on Thursday, the Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU), Fishwise, members of Agriculture and Social Development Society (ASDS), Monetery Bay Aquarium, Maritech and Essmart discussed on the supply of quality seed and feed, maintaining quality in water in tanks, controlling diseases and on raising specific pathogen free (SPF) shrimp.

ASDS CEO V. Gandhi Babu said that the experts discussed about value chain in shrimp culture. Fishwise deputy director Kate o’ Rourke stressed the need for implementation of CAP in coastal districts in AP.

Maritech CEO Sanathana Krishnan and Essmart CEO Prasanth Venkata Ramana asked the students pursuing fisheries and aquaculture courses and research in various universities and colleges to enlighten the farmers on CAP.
