A banner put up by the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), which partially obscured the signboard of the Vadavalli police outpost near the Maruthamalai Temple in Coimbatore, has been removed following criticism.

The police outpost functions under the jurisdiction of the Vadavalli police station and is located near the temple, a major pilgrimage centre that attracts visitors from across the State. The banner had hidden the signboard identifying the facility from public view.

The issue drew criticism on social media and among members of the public, following which the banner was removed on Thursday (June 25, 2026).
