Telangana Housing Board invited entries from people suggesting the title of the scheme under which one lakh houses would be built in Core Urban Region (CURE) for people from Lower Income Groups (LIG).
A reward of ₹1 lakh was announced for the winner. The title suggestions can be posted as comment/reply to a post from the Board’s handle ‘tghd.official’ on Instagram. The last date for entries is June 28, 2026, said the Board’s Vice Chairman V.P. Gautham on Tuesday. The competition is being held to make people part of the project.
Over 600 responses were received in six hours of announcing the competition on the social media platform, with people submitting their entries as replies to the post. Some people posted their phone number along with the suggestion.
The State Cabinet has earlier announced that the LIG houses would be built in 24 Assembly constituencies in CURE. Land parcels for the construction were inspected in some pockets. Housing and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy in last week directed officials to identify government lands and dilapidated housing societies where the project can be taken up.
Applications for the houses were invited from people. Beneficiaries would be selected through a lottery system, as per a press note. Details pertaining to this would be announced soon, said Mr. Gautham.
