YSR Congress Party MLC Duvvada Srinivas on Tuesday (June 23, 2026) alleged that Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu had targeted him and got the police to file cases and harass him for exposing the Minister’s scams in rice procurement and other matters.

Mr. Srinivas was questioned by the police at the Kotturu police station till late on Monday (June 22, 2026) over his alleged remarks against Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan. Mr. Srinivas denied the allegations and said a video had been made using artificial intelligence to defame him politically.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Mr. Srinivas said he had never made any derogatory remarks against Mr. Pawan Kalyan or other leaders. He alleged that Mr. Atchannaidu had misused his powers and targeted Kalinga and Kapu community leaders in the Opposition.

The police have asked him to appear for a second round of questioning on July 27, 2026. Mr. Srinivas said he would cooperate, while asking the police not to frame false charges at the behest of influential people.
