The ‘Annadatha Sukhibhava-PM Kisan’ programme was launched at Rayachoti in Annamayya district on Saturday, with ₹110.77 crore credited to the accounts of 1.64 lakh farmers in the district as the first instalment for 2026-27.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the PM Kisan assistance virtually, while Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu released the State component under Annadatha Sukhibhava. Minister for Transport, Sports and Youth Services, Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, attended the district-level event.

Addressing the farmers, the Minister said that the coalition government was implementing welfare measures for farmers and reducing cultivation costs through subsidies on urea, drip irrigation and other inputs. “About 34,000 farmers in Rayachoti constituency received nearly ₹18 crore in the latest instalment,” he said.

Collector Nishant Kumar, who also attended the event, cautioned that rainfall would remain below normal this season and urged farmers to conserve water, reduce borewell-based paddy cultivation and adopt micro-irrigation and horticulture crops.

The Collector said the State government had approved proposals worth ₹124 crore to address Rayachoti’s drinking water needs. “Officials were also instructed to pursue development of market yards, water conservation works and Mandavya river improvement projects in the district,” he said.
