Some people pursue success for recognition, while others dedicate their lives to creating a meaningful difference in society. H. Anand Kirubakaran belongs to the latter. An accomplished educator, music producer, composer, sound engineer, keyboard player, and social contributor, he has built a career that reflects purpose, creativity, and commitment. Every milestone in his journey is driven by a simple belief—that talent becomes truly meaningful when it is used to inspire, educate, and serve others. His path proves that excellence is not confined to one profession but can be achieved across multiple fields through discipline, continuous learning, and unwavering dedication. Currently serving as an English and Music Teacher at CSI Jessie Moses Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Anna Nagar, Chennai, Anand has become a source of inspiration for students and fellow educators alike. His strong academic background, earned through institutions including Madras Christian College, Annamalai University, and Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, reflects his lifelong commitment to learning. Beyond the classroom, he has composed music for more than 100 short films, documentaries, corporate films, advertisements, and hundreds of gospel songs. His ability to blend technical excellence with emotion has enabled his music to reach diverse audiences, proving that creativity can be a powerful medium for education, faith, and social awareness.
One of the defining moments of his career came during the COVID-19 pandemic when he led the production of a historic virtual rendition of the Indian National Anthem. Bringing together 220 teachers from 11 schools across Tamil Nadu, the initiative became a heartfelt tribute to frontline workers who served the nation with courage and selflessness. Every participant recorded their performance individually from home while adhering to government safety protocols, and Anand undertook the challenging responsibility of compiling, synchronizing, editing, and producing the entire presentation. The project highlighted the spirit of collaboration among educational institutions, particularly the participation of several CSI schools, and demonstrated how educators can unite communities even in the most difficult times. His passion for creating meaningful impact through music extends far beyond this remarkable initiative. Anand is the founder and conductor of The Hallels Gospel Virtual Choir, India’s first and only virtual gospel choir with more than 1,000 participants from around the world. He has conducted numerous choirs across Chennai, nurturing musical talent while fostering unity through faith. His contribution to education also includes compiling, designing, editing, and publishing three volumes of kindergarten learning books through Divya Publications. Adding another dimension to his creative journey, Anand composed a Chennai-style folk awareness song for Kundrathur Municipality, promoting responsible waste management among the public. Produced by Little Flower Matric School, Kundrathur, the project demonstrated how music can effectively communicate civic responsibility and encourage positive behavioural change within communities.
Beyond music and education, Anand actively contributes to society through public service. As Joint Secretary of the Anti-Corruption Council of India for Tamil Nadu and Chief Observer for Tamil Nadu in Human Rights and SJM initiatives, he continues to work toward building a more responsible and compassionate society. His outstanding contribution to music earned him an Honorary Doctoral Degree in Music from Global Peace University in 2022, but his greatest achievement lies in the lives he continues to influence. Whether teaching in a classroom, composing music with a purpose, mentoring aspiring musicians, or serving the community, H. Anand Kirubakaran exemplifies the power of balancing passion with responsibility. His journey reminds us that true success is measured not merely by awards or accomplishments, but by the positive impact we leave on the lives of others and the society we strive to uplift.
