Days after a pet dog deployed in search operations of a two-year-old girl missing case, died under suspicious conditions, Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha on Wednesday said she was hopeful that the dog’s forensic report might give some clue on the missing toddler, stating that the report is expected to be out within 48 hours.

The girl and the pet dog reportedly went missing on June 6. However, the dog returned home on June 9 and was deployed in search operations of the girl and as part of the plan it was fitted with a GPS tracker. The dog that walked for more than 80 kms during the search operation died under suspicious conditions on June 13 at the girl’s residence.

The dog’s body was sent for a post-mortem examination to find out the cause of its death.

Accompanied by Kakinada Superintendent of Police G. Bondhu Madhav, Ms. Anitha reviewed the ongoing search operations. Besides, she also met the girl’s mother Bhavani at her resident in Ch. Agraharam village of Kakinada district’s Tuni mandal and consoled her.

“The search operations are still going on with all the technical tools including thermal drones. We did not get any clue on the missing girl even after 12 days of the intensive search,” the Minister said, adding that all the households in the nearby villages have been searched as part of the search operation.

Ms. Anitha announced that Anti-Naxal squads have also been deployed for the search in the forest blocks and the hill near the girl’s village, where a village resident reportedly claimed to have seen the girl along with the pet dog.

The Home Minister has warned stern action against those who are posting content without any technical base and evidences. She also promised to intensify the probe and search operation.
