After ceiling collapse, ZP CEO seeks report on condition of school, college buildings in Kalaburagi

Following recent incident of the collapse of the ceiling plaster in a school building in Kalaburagi district on June 14, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Rahul Sankanur chaired a review meeting in Kalaburagi on June 15.

Officials from the Zilla Panchayat, Education Department, Panchayat Raj Department, Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited (KRIDL), and Public Works Department attended the meeting.

Mr. Sankanur directed the Block Education Officers and Assistant Executive Engineers of all taluks to jointly inspect government school buildings in their respective jurisdictions, and submit a consolidated report on their condition at the earliest.

The officer instructed Deputy Directors of School Education and Pre-University Education Departments to supervise, and prepare a list of schools requiring minor repairs, as well as those requiring major renovation, and submit proposals at the earliest.

He directed officials to take precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incident in the coming days, and ensure the safety of students in school premises.
