MANCHERIAL

Terming the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) as a crown jewel of Telangana, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has said attempts by the Opposition party leaders to ‘malign’ the image of the public sector miner for ‘narrow political interests’ will not be tolerated.

Mr. Vikramarka along with Minister for IT and Industries D. Sridhar Babu on Sunday inspected the Srirampur Open Cast Coal Mine in Mancherial district. Chairman and Managing Director of the SCCL Buddhaprakash Jyoti and other senior officials accompanied the Deputy CM.

Speaking to the media after conducting the open-house inspection of the mine, the Deputy CM said the Singareni workers are the backbone of the public sector miner propelling its growth through their hard work and commitment.

He alleged that the Opposition leaders were spreading false propaganda against the SCCL with narrow political machinations. Any attempts to belittle the dignity of the workforce and their tireless efforts will not be tolerated, he said, asserting that the SCCL would continue to function in a transparent manner.

The Deputy CM, who holds the portfolios of Finance and Energy, reviewed the functioning of the opencast mine and safety measures, besides inspecting coal transportation records.

The SCCL officials apprised the Deputy CM of the GPS-based Vehicle Tracking System (VTS), Geofencing, Boom barriers, surveillance cameras and other foolproof systems in place to ensure transparency in the whole spectrum of SCCL’s coal mining operations including coal loading, dispatch and transportation by leveraging technology.
