Minister for MSME Kondapalli Srinivas on Sunday (June 14, 2026) said the State government was giving top priority to spreading yoga in rural areas by holding training programmes for villagers under yoga experts.

He, along with Collector S. Ramsundar Reddy, inaugurated a thematic yoga programme near Ankanna Cheruvu at Nelivada village in Bondapalli mandal of Vizianagaram district. People who practised yoga regularly would lead a healthy and happy life, he said.

Mr. Ramsundar Reddy welcomed the participation of VB-Ram G workers and farmers in the programme. People in rural areas, too, were facing difficulties with changes in lifestyle, he said, and suggested they overcome stress by practising yoga every day.

Around 1,000 people practised yoga under the supervision of the experts, and vowed to learn more asanas to take part in International Yoga Day celebrations on June 21, 2026.
