India on Saturday (June 13, 2026) denied reports that a fourth vessel was attacked near Oman on Friday (June 12, 2026) night.

Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs denied reports that MT Liaki Freedom, a Marshall Islands-flagged vessel, was attacked near Oman. He said that the Ministry had contacted the vessel and confirmed that all crew members were safe. MV Jalveer and MT Sentebello were attacked in that region earlier this week.

Earlier on Saturday (June 12, 2026), the Forward Seamen’s Union of India (FSUI) flagged that MT Liaki Freedom was not responding to communications on very high frequency (VHF), however, later said that the vessel responded and was not attacked.

MT Liaki Freedom, currently owned and managed by UAE firms, has a cargo carrying capacity of some 13,000 tonnes. Built in 2007, it has changed hands and names once and is not on any of the main sanctions lists.

Three vessels with Indian crew came under attack off Oman earlier this week. One of them resulted in the death of three Indian seafarers on Wednesday (June 10, 2026). External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar spoke to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and lodged a strong protest over the attacks by the U.S. Navy in the Gulf.

The reports of the attack and denial come just two hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s departure to Paris for the G-7 summit where he is likely to meet U.S. President Donald Trump.
