The Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) launched a new city bus service to Kalaburagi airport from Kalaburagi Central Bus Stand.

Flagging off the service at the Central Bus Stand on June 9, KKRTC Chairperson Arunkumar Patil said that the new service was introduced in the backdrop of the resumption of flight operations between Kalaburagi and Bengaluru, with the aim of providing convenient and affordable connectivity to air travellers as well as the general public from key points in the city to the airport.

“Not just air passengers, but the general public too should make full use of this service. Compared to the cost of private vehicles, this bus service is available at a very affordable fare, and will result in considerable savings for people,” he said.

Bus schedule

The special bus will depart daily from the Kalaburagi Central Bus Stand at 6.10 a.m., passing through key locations, including Vallabhbhai Patel Circle (Timmapura) and Annapurna Cross, and reach the airport by 7 a.m.

The return trip from the airport will commence at 8 a.m. The corporation has indicated that additional trips will be introduced based on passenger demand.

The launch was attended by KKRTC Divisional Controllers S.G. Gangadhar (Kalaburagi-1) and Basantappa B.M. (Kalaburagi-2), Divisional Mechanical Engineer Sheikh Husaini, Prashant, Depot Manager Anila, Administrative Officer Gurulingappa, DTO Hosamani and other KKRTC officials, and members of the public.
