BJP councillor arrested – The Hindu

BJP councillor R. Sugathan, who represents the Vazhottukonam Division of the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, was arrested here on Tuesday night. The Vattiyurkavu police took into custody Mr. Sugathan, who had been evading arrest for over a month after being named an accused in a case registered in connection with a clash during a festival at the Vellaikkadavu temple in Vattiyurkavu. His arrest also led to some tension, with a section of BJP workers attempting to block the police from taking him into custody.
