Mohammed Salim T.B., Joint Registrar of the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat), was reportedly electrocuted on the premises of his residence at Edappally in Kochi on Sunday (June 7, 2026).

He was 54. He was also the personal assistant to the Registrar of the university.

Mr. Salim was found lying unconscious on a farm near his house by his family members in the evening. Though he was rushed to a private hospital in Kochi, he was declared brought dead. It is suspected that he suffered an electric shock from a pump set in the farm, university sources said.

The body has been kept at the mortuary of the hospital. The body will be shifted to Government Medical College Hospital at Kalamassery on Monday morning.

He is survived by his wife, Shihna Shihabudheen, and daughters Haneena, Haniya, and Sana.
